Three educational institutions of the state capital were on the target of the UP-based self-radicalised ISIS module. Members of this module had also planned to kidnap a prominent educator here for ransom to carry out their terror activities.
The members of the module had also done the recce of the institutions and were planning to execute their plan within a few weeks.
A UP Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) official said these startling facts were mentioned in the diary of Sayyed Meer Hussain, the alleged deputy chief of the self-radicalised ISIS module, recovered from the group’s north India headquarters operational from a Haji colony house where Saifullah Khan, the alleged operation head of the group, was gunned down by ATS commandos in the wee hours of March 8.
The names of these institutions had not been revealed due to safety concerns while the security of persons on their targets had been intensified, he said.
The official said the diary also contained the details of some dargahs and places of Hindu worship where they were planning to execute terror operations.
He said the diary also had the detailed plan of defence in case they were surrounded by security agencies. The diary will also be handed over the NIA sleuths for further probe into the matter.
