Woman dies of H1N1 in UP

After a break of almost three months, swine flu struck Uttar Pradesh with the death of a 25-year-old woman who was tested positive to H1N1 virus at a hospital in Lucknow, officials said in Lucknow on Tuesday.

After a break of almost three months, swine flu struck Uttar Pradesh with the death of a 25-year-old woman who was tested positive to H1N1 virus at a hospital in Lucknow, officials said in Lucknow on Tuesday.

Jyoti Singh, from Barabanki, who was undergoing treatment at Chattrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University in Lucknow died on Monday, they said.

She was admitted on July 15 with breathlessness and later diagnosed as a patient of bilateral pneumonia.

Her swab sample was tested and it confirmed that she was suffering from swine flu.

Jyoti had reported flu like symptoms since she returned from a trip to south on July 9.

Ever since flu outbroke in March 2009, UP has reported 1313 lab confirmed cases, of which 21 had died.
