Cash and gold of ₹5.7L robbed in 30 minutes in Mumbai
The police said that the accused broke through the door and entered the flat on the 12th floor.
An unidentified person robbed cash and gold jewellery worth Rs5.7 lakh within 30 minutes at an apartment in Gulshan Nagar in Jogeshwari (west) on Friday.
The Oshiwara police are investigating the case.
The complainant, Abdul Ahad Khan in his statement to the police said that he had gone out around 12 noon and returned home half an hour later.
According to the complaint, total valuables, including a gold necklace, five gold lockets, four gold bangles, five gold rings and a pair of gold earrings worth Rs4.7 lakh were missing from his cupboard.
The police said that the accused broke through the door and entered the flat on the 12th floor.
“We are checking the CCTV footage of the building to identify the person involved. We are also checking the list of history-sheeters to ascertain if the crime was committed by someone with a previous criminal history based on the modus of the burglary,” said an officer from Oshiwara police station.
The police are also questioning the security guard of the building. Officials believe the suspect may have visited the spot as it was done in a very small time frame.
A case of theft and house break-in has been registered against an unknown accused at the Oshiwara police station.
