Lindsay Clancy's preschool teacher noted atypical behavior in her daughter shortly before her tragic death.
A court was informed that Susan Bertolo, the preschool teacher of Lindsay Clancy's daughter, witnessed unusual and atypical behavior in the young girl just one day before her tragic death at home.
Additionally, Amy Bevins, a longtime friend of Clancy, revealed that a few days before the children's deaths, Clancy had sent her a text expressing that she was struggling with 'dark thoughts' and was experimenting with new medications for assistance.
Clancy faces charges of murdering her children—Cora, five, Dawson, three, and Callan, eight months—using exercise bands in the basement of her residence in Duxbury in January 2023.

Both Lindsay and Patrick Clancy were involved in dropping off Cora. She remembers seeing Patrick more frequently, although she shared the drop-off duties with another preschool teacher.

Bertolo became emotional as she described Cora as an ‘amazing’ and ‘wonderful’ preschool student, expressing her belief that Cora was prepared to transition into kindergarten.

On the morning of January 23, 2023, Cora was taken to preschool. That day, according to Bertolo, Cora needed to use the restroom more frequently than usual. She expressed her concern, noting that this behavior was atypical for the child, and communicated this to another teacher.
What did Lindsay Clancy do?
When Bertolo informed Clancy at pickup, she mentioned that Cora had a doctor's appointment scheduled for the following day.
The five-year-old was expressing discomfort, stating that her stomach hurt and was reluctant to rise from her nap, as reported by her second teacher of the day, Stephanie Williams, during the court proceedings.
Williams relayed this information to Clancy when she picked her daughter that afternoon.
Rather than Cora rising to greet her mother at the classroom door, as is customary for the children, Clancy had to enter the room and softly encourage the girl to come out.
Clancy, as per the testimony of teachers, lifted the young girl from her cot, saying to her: “Oh baby, come on let's go get Dawson and we'll go home.”
When inquired whether she observed any changes in Clancy on that day - or on any other occasion - Bertolo responded that she was simply a “loving mother,” who held great concern for her children.
