The Gamdevi police, on Sunday, arrested four men at Girgaum Chowpatty in South Mumbai for allegedly molesting two women and assaulting one of the woman’s husband.

According to the police, one of the alleged accused molested the two women repeatedly, and the other three beat up one of woman’s husband after he tried to defend them.

According to one of the women, she was celebrating her birthday with her husband and friends at a beach side restaurant when the incident took place.

When they were leaving the restaurant around 1.45 am, one of the men touched her inappropriately. Assuming it was a mistake, she ignored it. When she felt the man’s hand on her again, she asked her 15-year-old son to walk behind her.

Once they were outside the restaurant, her friend reported to have had the same experience. When the friend’s husband saw this, he slapped the man. In response to this, the man’s three friends came to his defence and began to beat the husband up.

The four men have been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for molestation, assault, and criminal intimidation.
