Man running to catch train at Thane station falls on tracks, hurt
It’s the fifth train accident between Dombivli and Thane stations in four days.
A 38-year-old man running to catch a local train at Thane station suffered severe injuries to his leg after he slipped and fell on the tracks and came under the moving train on Thursday night.
The accident took place around 8.45pm when Mukund Laxman Bhalerao was running to board the Karjat-bound fast train on platform no. 5 at Thane station.
“The victim was taken to Thane Civil hospital. On Friday, he was shifted to Sion Hospital in Mumbai. He lives in Kalam taluka in Karjat and his family has been informed about the incident. He is in a stable condition,” said an official from Thane Government Railway Police, who did not wish to be named. “He slipped and fell in the gap between two compartments of the train.”
This is the fifth train accident to have taken place between Dombivli and Thane stations in the past four days.
