A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly recording and circulating an obscene video of a woman on WhatsApp group.

The accused and the woman, who is in her 20s, are co-workers. The woman, who is at a senior level, and the accused did not get along well.
Police officers said in the last week of May, the man hid a mobile phone in the office washroom and recorded a video in which the woman was seen getting physically intimate with a man from the office.

The accused circulated the video on a WhatsApp group formed by office employees. One of the employees showed the video to the woman after which she filed a police complaint.
A police officer said, “The man was traced immediately and arrested. We did not see the video. In such cases, videos are only seen by women panchs. We have got his custody for one day.”
He was booked under section 354C (any man who watches, or captures the image of a woman engaging in a private act) of the IPC and section 67A (punishment for publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act, etc., in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act.
