A 65-year-old man was stabbed to death while he was asleep in a chawl in Kalyan on Monday early morning.
The victim, identified as Lahu Beturkar, a resident of Beturkar Pada chawl in Kalyan (West), was killed while he was sleeping in the verandah of the chawl. A murder case was registered under Sections 302 and 307 of IPC against an unknown person at Bazarpeth police station after Beturkar’s son approached the cops. The deceasaed lived with his 35-year-old son and his wife, who were inside the room at teh time of teh incident.
A police official from Bazarpeth police station said, “The incident took place on early Monday morning. We are yet to establish the reason behind the murder and even the complainant has not mentioned anything about enmity with anybody.”
