The accused Gautam Savla,43, runs a grocery shop, and Nikhil Sampat, 53, works in private firm and Nitish Punjani,28, is unemployed.
The police said they had seized ₹1.6 lakh in cash, two laptops, three mobile phones and a notebook bearing the names of many customers and their mobile phone numbers.
“We will look into the contacts mentioned,” said Rajkumar Kothmire, a police inspector working with the anti-extortion cell. “They were betting on each and every ball. They have been in this business for the past three years, focusing mainly on the Indian Premier League matches. They are involved with betting in other matches too.”
A case under relevant sections of the IPC was registered against the three men at the Dombivli police station
