Two kill 19-year-old in Mumbai after fight over smoking, arrested

The victim succumbed to his injuries after which, a murder case was registered and the duo was arrested.

The police arrested two youths for murdering a 19-year-old over cigarette smoking in a chawl, in Powai, on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Arbaz Mehboob Shaikh, 19. His brother Shahbaz Mehboob Shaikh, 18, is the complainant.

According to police, Arbaz and Shahbaz were smoking cigarettes, when a person known to them warned them saying that he would inform their parents.

The two accused identified as Peer Mohamed Shaikh, 20, and Shubham Singh, 20, who were passing by heard the noise and reached the spot.

They took up a fight with Shahbaz over smoking in their area.

Arbaz tried to stop the fight and the duo attacked him with a paver block. They also rained kicks and punches on him.

Arbaz succumbed to his injuries after which, a murder case was registered and the duo was arrested.
