Woman dies after 23-year-old runs her over
The victim – 55-year-old Ratnabai Thorat –was heading to the market when she met with the accident.
Hours after purchasing a car, a 23-year-old woman from Ulhasnagar, on Monday, ran over another woman, killing her.

The victim – 55-year-old Ratnabai Thorat –was heading to the market when she met with the accident and later, succumbed to her injuries. The incident took place on Aman Talkies Road in Ulhasnagar.
The driver – Dimple Panjwani – was arrested and after being producing in court, was remanded in judicial custody.
R Kahde, sub-inspector, Central police station, said, “Panjwani had purchased a car two hours ago and was going for a ride, while Thorat was heading towards the market. As Patil was crossing Panjwani’s building gate, the latter, who was taking the car outside the building, lost control over the wheels and hit Thorat.”
Thorat suffered multiple injuries and locals and passers-by, who witnessed the accident, rushed Thorat to a private hospital nearby. “After the accident, we alerted Thorat’s son, who is a rickshaw driver. But during the treatment, Thorat succumbed to her injuries. After the statement from Thorat’s son was recorded, a case of rash and negligent driving under Motor Vehicle Act was registered”, added Kahde.
The police said that Panjwani had completed her graduation and was pursuing a course in dietetics.
