BHIWANDI: A day after a building collapse was reported from Bhiwandi on Sunday, the civic administration has decided to reimburse the medical expenses of all those injured in the Sunday’s mishap and those injured in the Gaibi Nagar tragedy as well.

Assistant Municipal Commissioner Sunil Bhalerao said monetary aid will be offered once the paperwork is completed.
He added that residents occupying the other half of Mahadev building, which partially collapsed on Sunday, have been relocated to the nearby buildings.
Ramjan Ansari, one of the three injured in the Sunday’s mishap, said, “Though I fractured my left leg in the mishap, I won’t think twice before helping others if such a situation arise in the future. Doctors have assured that I will be fine and will be able to get back to my routine within a fortnight.”
While three people sustained injuries in the Sunday’s collapse at Hanuman Tekdi, 22 persons were reported injured after a building crumbled in Gaibi Nagar last Sunday. Meanwhile, officers from Bhiwandi (City) police station have registered an ADR following Sunday’s mishap.
Dr Vidya Shetty, medical officer from BNMC, said, “We’ll first scan the papers, as several injured have been discharged. We have a team that assess such emergencies, and will soon appoint a doctor to offer medical assistance to the injured. A message about the same was circulated following an internal meet.”
