MUMBAI: Cool conditions prevailed over the city for a second day in a row as a thick cloud cover with sporadic spells of light rain continued on Sunday. The city witnessed a drop in temperatures by 5 degree Celsius. Between 8.30am and 8.30pm, the weather station at Colaba recorded 16.2mm rain. However, during the same time, Santacruz recorded only 1.8mm rain.

Owing to the sky being cloudy through the day with hardly any sunshine, the day temperature at south Mumbai was 5.5 degree Celsius below normal at 25.7 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature at the suburbs was 4.5 degree Celsius below normal at 27 degrees Celsius. Night temperatures were a degree Celsius below normal.
Weathermen said that the Konkan coast, including Mumbai and interior parts of the state could receive heavy rain over the next two days.
