The Juhu police on Monday arrested two persons for assaulting an Air India employee last month.

The two men have been identified as Ratnakar Bankar, 46, and Girish Tandel, 43, both employees of Air India. They were arrested from their work place.
The two men along with many others had attacked Praveen Gangurde, 53, on October 26.
Gangurde who works as the assistant general manager at Air India is also the president of the Akhil Bhartiya Valmiki Samaj Vikas Parishad.
According to the police, there was a committee meeting at Novatel Hotel in Juhu on October 26.
During the meeting, Gangurde had claimed that several men from the SC/ST category had not submitted their caste certificates and many had even given bogus ones.
Agitated over the issue, the two men who belong to the SC/ST category, along with others, assaulted the victim.
Gangurde sustained injuries on his head, neck, and shoulder and was admitted to Hinduja Hospital. Incidentally, the victim is also a member of the SC category.
“We have arrested the two men and are searching for others involved in the attack. They have been booked for assault,” said Deepak Katkade, senior inspector of the Juhu police station.
