The Ambernath police arrested two women on Saturday for robbing a man of gold, cash and mobile phones in March.

Ganesh Ambekar (45), a railway employee was alone at his Hari Om Nagar home. He was looking for a domestic help when a local vendor, Pramod Zanje, introduced him to Dawarkabai Hazaare (40). Hazaare got Sujata Meshram (30) employed at Ambekar’s home.
The three then planned to rob Ambekar. They got him inebriated and hit him on his head so that he lost consciousness. They then looted 300 gm of gold, two mobile phones and Rs 8,000 cash. When Ambekar regained consciousness, he told the women he would not lodge a complaint if they returned his goods.
But they threatened to file a molestation case against him if he complained. Ambekar then approached the police.
