A 25-year-old unidentified woman’s body was found at Varap village on Thursday. The police said the body was found in a gunny bag and had been wrapped in a paper box.

Police inspector Rajendra Naik, Titwala police station said around 8am, a local resident, Lalit Shinde, informed them about the body. “The body has black marks on the neck. Prima facie it looks like the woman was murdered at another place and was transported to the spot in a vehicle.”

The police said they await the post mortem report to ascertain if the woman was murdered. They are also in the process of identifying the body after which they will notify all the other police stations and search through missing persons’ complaints.
