“Tevar was stabbed at least 11 times. She bled to death while the assailant fled with her gold ring and chain,” said an officer from the Sahar police station.

The police suspect the incident took place after midnight as one of Tevar’s neighbours told the police that she spoke to her around midnight. The police are questioning the senior citizen’s neighbours to check if anyone heard screams or noticed any suspicious activity in the neighbourhood.

Tevar, a widow, is survived by a daughter, who stayed in the same locality. She had two sons, but both have died, said the police. The Sahar police have registered a case of robbery and murder against unidentified accused.
