Morres had redeveloped the Rose Mary cooperative housing society in IC Colony, Borivli (West). The police said, Morres conned people with the promise of giving more carpet area than he actually intended.

“In some flats the carpet area mentioned in the agreement was 1000 sq-ft. However, when the buyer measured the flat the carpet area was only 850 sq-ft,” a police official from MHB Colony police station said.

“The people who bought the flats said the agreement mentioned greater carpet area and when the measured the area it was less,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (north) Ramrao Pawar. This was the case with all the buyers and several have approached the police, he added. “After receiving several complaints, the police investigated into the matter and after finding evidence against him, arrested Morres from his residence on Wednesday,” he said.
