On Thursday night, the girl, a Class 8 student at a municipal school, lodged a complaint claiming that her father had raped her at their Amrutnagar residence in September.

“The victim might have not filed the complaint earlier out of fear. She is his daughter from his second wife, who works in Dubai. He is currently unemployed. His first wife no longer stays with him,” said senior police inspector Vikram Karkud.

In her statement to the police, the girl said one day when she had come home early from school, her father, who was sleeping on the floor, told her to burst the boils on his body.

He then asked her to sleep next to her and take her clothes off. But when she refused, he allegedly forced himself on her, she told the police. When the victim told her 30-year-old stepbrother, who is married and lives nearby, about the rape, he told her to file the police complaint.

The police are now investigating if the accused had sexually assaulted his daughter in the past. But they are also probing if his son from his first marriage has framed him.
