How much open space is a builder supposed to provide?
If a plot is 1,000 sq m in area then a builder is not expected to leave any open space, but if the plot is between 1,000 sq m and 2,500 sq m, then 10 per cent should be open space.

If the plot is above 2,500 sq m, 15 per cent has to be open space.

Do builders allot enough open/ garden space?
There are many rules, but adhering to them depends upon the builder. Sometimes, the builder sticks to the rules but there is no monitoring to keep a check on this space.

What about your constructions?
We built a one-kilometre jogging track, a meditation and yoga room on the 25th floor of our Palm Beach Residency building.

If there is a will, every builder can incorporate these value-adds in their projects. With our other projects, we have provided reflexology walking tracks for the elderly, puja rooms and small wading pools.

How can builders improve facilities for children?
Builders are duty-bound to provide open spaces and health-oriented value-adds to their projects. And it does
not cost much at all. They must provide enough garden space, walking paths and open areas.
