Kurar firing: Assailants held grudge against victim
The Kurar police on Wednesday recorded the statement of Sachin Sawant (28), who was allegedly shot at by three persons on Tuesday night.
The Kurar police on Wednesday recorded the statement of Sachin Sawant (28), who was allegedly shot at by three persons on Tuesday night.
The three assailants have been identified as Jayendra Singh alias Debu, Samar Yadav and Kharpu who are absconding. The police said that Sawant had helped the police trace a witness in a case which was registered against the trio two months ago, because of which the they held a grudge against Sawant. Sawant is a site supervisor at an under-construction plot in Malad (E) being worked on by Akash Developers. At around 9.15pm, the three men entered his office and fired three rounds. He was rushed to Sancheti Hospital.
Additional Commissioner of police (north region) Ramrao Pawar said, “The men were carrying a country-made revolver. The victim has told us that all the three assailants attempted to fire but because of a technical snag, only one of them could fire.”
