Ismail Madala, 24, reportedly kicked and punched the deceased Zubair Shah, 27, also his brother-in-law, on his chest after he learnt that Shah had liking for his wife. Both were working in the same jewellery unit and resided in the same area – Malad (east).

The incident took place on Monday when the duo were sitting and consuming liquor at Fiza Enterprise in Ambapada, Malad (east). They got into an argument and Madala reportedly hit Shah, following which he fell unconscious.

The police said that Madala was agitated with Shah’s behaviour towards his wife. He had liking for his wife and would harass her in his absence.

“Madala said that Shah would often tell him that his wife was beautiful and he wanted to marry her,” an officer said.

Mohan Sankhe, senior police inspector of Kurar police station said, “We have arrested Madala on charges of murder.”
