Two firms owned by Jadhav and her husband Sridhar, Manohar Decorators and Mukund Krupa Travels, and Shiv Sena shakha (branch) number 169 from Sion have put up over a hundred illegal hoardings congratulating her on becoming mayor.
They were erected without the civic body’s permission, an official said on condition of anonymity. The Maharashtra Prevention of Defacement of Property Act says the Brihan-mumbai Municipal Corporation must file a first information report in the case, he added.
Jadhav told HT, “The practice of not taking permission [from the BMC] is common. Every party erects hoardings.”
