And going by our netas’ travel plans, Europe remains a favourite holiday destination. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief, Raj Thackeray, has chosen Zurich to holiday with his family. He left on May 14 and is expected to arrive on May 28, sources said. He is a frequent flier and holidaying abroad is an annual ritual.

If it is Zurich for Raj, his cousin and the executive president of the Shiv Sena, Uddhav has chosen London to spend summer vacation with his family.

Surprisingly though, Uddhav’s bitter enemy and state industries minister Narayan Rane, also left for London last week with his family. Rane is expected to be back on May 26.

Unlike them, the leader of the opposition in the state assembly Eknath Khadse is in Croatia to attend the Global Parliamentarians’ Forum. The meet, organised by the Croatian Parliament and the city of Zadar, will conclude on May 21, and Khadse is accompanied by Devendra Fadnavis, BJP MLA from Vidarbha, on this trip.

The first citizen of the city, Mayor Shraddha Jadhav, has just returned from a week-long tour to China and Geneva while Sena leader Sanjay Raut has come back from his China trip.

In the last few years, politicos are increasingly frequenting foreign shores during summers.
