The Bandra unit of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) arrested James David Uchina (31) outside the main gate of Bawa International Hotel and seized 27 gm of cocaine worth Rs 80,000.
“Uchina is a main player in peddling cocaine in Mumbai and Goa. He supplies drugs to college students in south Mumbai and western suburbs,” said an ANC officer on condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to talk to the media.
During interrogation, Uchina reportedly confessed that the cocaine found on him was to be delivered to “some college students”.
“Uchina also revealed that he used to supply drugs to clients at big hotels. We will interrogate him further to know the names of hotels where he used to supply drugs,” added the ANC officer.
