Rajesh Kamble, a businessman from Dadar, had on Tuesday moved an application seeking criminal prosecution of Hiranandani and government officials for the alleged irregularities. The charge is that the developer built premium homes on land meant to house economically weaker sections.

With regard to the same Powai housing project, a special court had in June this year, on the complaint of another activist, Santosh Daundkar, directed the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to register a case of corruption against government officials and Hiranandani.

The ACB had on the direction of the special court registered the case against Benjamin and Hiranandani, which is pending investigation.
