“It is evident that the CBI is being used by the Congress. The delaying tactics used by the CBI in filing the First Information Report (FIR) has allowed the accused to get bail,” state BJP president Sudhir Munganntiwar said.

On Tuesday, a special CBI court granted bail to seven of the nine accused arrested in the Adarsh housing society case in March and April.

The BJP has been critical of the handling of the Adarsh case and recently voiced its opposition over former chief minister Ashok Chavan’s plea not to depose before the Adarsh Commission. Chavan later agreed to appear before it.

The BJP has said that the Congress government is using all possible measures to shield politicians found involved.
