Sena chief calls Big B, wants to watch Rann

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray called actor Amitabh Bachchan to arrange for a special screening of his latest film Rann, reports Rajendra Aklekar.

The film revolves around the highly competitive world of television news reporting.

Bachchan posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com “Uddhav Thackeray [Sena executive president] calls. He has just come out of the theatre after Rann and is not able to find appropriate words to describe his appreciation for the film and the performance. Minutes later Balasaheb calls. ‘I want to see this film. Come and show it to me! You have not been to see me for a long time’!”

Bachchan said he has assured the Sena chief that he will arrange for a screening in his house.

“I ask after his health. He is fine, he says,” Bachchan wrote on his blog.

“He [Bal Thackeray] cannot travel out due to his frail condition, but the fire in him still burns… His sense of humor is intact as he punches in some wise ones!!”
