While the prize money remains Rs 5 crore, the show timings and duration have been re-worked. Unlike the previous season, when KBC was telecast on weekdays, KBC6 will be telecast on Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 8.30 pm to 10pm.

“The advertiser response has been outstanding,” says Danish Khan, marketing head, Sony.

For starters, KBC6 has seen its advertising spot shoot up to Rs3.75 lakh per 10 seconds this year from Rs 3.25 lakh per 10 seconds last year. Sony Television expects to collect revenues of Rs 375 crore as against last season’s Rs 275 crore. Shubha George, COO, South Asia, of media agency MEC says, “The fact that the show has moved to the weekend could add to viewership. There will be at least 10% jump in the opening week ratings.”
