
Student ends life in Trombay
A 15-year-old student from Trombay committed suicide on Tuesday morning at her residence at the Baba Atomic Research Center (BARC) colony by hanging herself.
Sayli Vilas Nayak, a class 10 student of the Atomic Energy School, located in the BARC campus, was found hanging with a dupatta from the ceiling of her home in Parijat building.
According to SB Jagtap, senior police inspector, Nayak was a bright student and was not going through any academic pressures. On Tuesday, Nayak’s parents went to the attend the Republic Day flag ceremony while Nayak stayed back to study.
At 12.30 pm, when the couple returned no one answered the door. They broke open the door to find the girl hanging from the ceiling fan. She was rushed to the hospital and was declared dead on arrival. “We did not find any suicide note on her.
According to her parent’s and neighbours’ statements she was a bright student. She had topped her class and had no academic pressures.,” said Jagtap.
