Having retained its old menu, Wasabi opened to a full house as patrons poured in as a mark of solidarity. Harbour Bar, the city’s first licensed bar that opened in 1933, has introduced new alcohol brands to its bar menu.

“Reservations for Wasabi filled up in less than 24 hours after we opened booking on December 1,” said John D’souza, in charge of the restaurant. “It feels great to see it come back to life.”

Executive Chef Hemant Oberoi and his team have also incorporated 14 new dishes in the Japanese restaurant, including new kinds of sushi, salads, cold dishes and even an authentic Japanese curry.

The restaurant and bar were to reopen on November 25, but were delayed due to technical difficulties, said a Taj official. “Today, we have come one more step closer to fulfilling our promise of rebuilding the Taj to its former glory,” aid Karambir Kang, the hotel’s general manager.
