Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, said, "Vilasrao was the star campaigner. Now it is our responsibility to increase the strength of the party."

State Congress president Manikrao Thakre said, "If the family allows, we will like to take his urn across the state."

He also told the party cadres to gear up for the polls.
