Strings, the popular music group from Pakistan, will enthrall Delhi audiences along with Afflatus, an all-girls band from Shillong and other bands from the South Asian region at a festival this week.

The December 11-13 festival is being held to promote cultural ties among South Asian countries. It is organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

Afflatus will perform on December 11 at the Purana Quila, followed by Half step down and Faridkot from Delhi, Nagarbaul and James from Bangladesh, Strings from Pakistan and end with a grand finale by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy on December 13. Bands like Kabul Dreams from Afghanistan and Emperor from Myanmar will also participate.

"This is an endeavour to create bonds and goodwill between the common people of different nations as music has no boundaries. It transcends all limitations and goes straight to your heart," ICCR Director General Virendra Gupta said.
