It will be one of those rare moments when one legend will pay tribute to another. As a part of its Tribute series, Fever Entertainment has roped in veteran music composer Pyarelal and singer Javed Ali to pay a tribute to the legendary singer — Late Mohammad Rafi, on his 32nd death anniversary. Pyarelal would be accompanied with a 50 piece symphony orchestra.
“We had a great equation with Rafi Sahab and have done a lot of quality work together. He had a magical voice that suited any actor on screen, be it Dilip Kumar, Johny Walker or Shammi Kapoor. It is my honour to pay a tribute to the legend that still lives in our hearts through his music,” says Pyarelal.
Music composer duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal had worked on 369 numbers with Mohammad Rafi and had also won many awards. “I am a huge fan of Rafi Sahab. He has been my inspiration and I still learn a lot from his work. His contribution to the Indian film Industry can’t be matched. Paying a tribute to this legend is my honour and I am glad this opportunity has come to me,” says Ali. The evening will see performances on some of Rafi’s most popular numbers, such as, Mast Baharo Ka from the movie Farz, Darde Dil from the movie Karz, Aaj Mausam Bada Baimaan Hai from the movie Loafer, among others.
“The Fever Tribute series have been immensely successful in the past, and this one is a little special. Rafi Sahab is hugely popular for his contribution to the Indian film industry. His music is evergreen, and even today, audiences want to listen to his songs. It will be a pleasure to relive an evening with his music and see other veterans perform,” says Harshad Jain, Business Head, Radio and Entertainment, HT Media Ltd. HTC
