Adnan Sami quit his 20-year-old ‘filthy habit’ of smoking for his baby daughter

Singer Adnan Sami and wife Roya recently had a daughter, named Medina, and even before she was born, the singer kicked the butt ‘one fine day’ in anticipation of fatherhood.

Adnan Sami quit his 20-year-old habit of smoking for his daughter, Medina, who was born this month. In a telephonic interview with us, Adnan, who is currently in Berlin, said that he quit the “filthy habit” even before his baby was born.

Adnan Sami had quit alcohol for his wife Roya Sami.

“My love for my daughter Medina is so tremendous that even before she was born, in January this year, in anticipation of her arrival, I gave up smoking! I kicked the 20-year-old filthy habit for her. I used to smoke up to 40 cigarettes a day. But one fine day in January, I kicked the habit… for her,” says the smitten new dad.

Love, he says, “can make you do great healthy things”. The other good things that love made him do was giving up alcohol and losing a vast amount of weight. “My love for my wife Roya is so intense that I gave up alcohol. My love for my father was so great that when he made me promise him that I’d lose weight, I did and lost 167kg!” adds Adnan.

The singer is very “excited” to have a daughter and has been on a shopping spree ever since Medina was born. “In the past three days, I have bought clothes, and toys for the age group of zero to three. I have become a shopaholic. My wife has told me to stop buying things now and she is fed up of my shopping spree. But I’m not gonna stop,” he laughs.

Just like other fathers, Adnan says he is very possessive about his daughter. He says, “I’ve bought a T-shirt for her, which has this cute little message: ‘I am not allowed to date’. I was just feeling very possessive and protective about her, and it was a very cute T-shirt — I just couldn’t stop myself from buying it for her.”
