Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys is entering the world of children’s fiction with a storytelling app. The Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee app has its roots in Keys’s musical ability as well as her own family ties.

“Mama Mae is a character that is partially born from the spirit of my Nana, who instilled in me all of the values that still guide my path to this day,” says the singer.

The app includes music and games and is supported by a central story. It is available for download for Apple devices currently. It will also be made available for other devices soon.
