Electra, whose real name is Tara Leigh Patrick, catapulted into the music scene after meeting Prince in the Nineties, signing on to his Paisley Park Records. She will release a new single, I Like It Loud, on November 13.

The newly-single star, who called off her four-year engagement to rocker Rob Patterson last month, said that recording music again has been vivifying. “I like it loud, I do! I like everything loud, over the top, dramatic,” the Daily Mail quoted her as telling Glamoholic magazine. “The music is very danceable, I liked the track and was able to go in and record it in a very low-key studio,” she said.

Electra famously debuted as a female rapper with her 1993 self-titled album; it was an image promoted by Prince, who also provided lyrics.
