Honour for nightingale

Singing legend Lata Mangeshkar, will be conferred with the ‘Officier de la legion d’Honeur’, the highest French Civilian Award. The French ambassador to India will present the award to the septuagenarian singer for her contribution towards music and a career spanning six decades on December 2.
Oscar-winning filmmaker Satyajit Ray and actor Amitabh Bachchan are the earlier recipients of this honour.
