Metallica may have given Mumbai a miss on their India tour, but that hasn’t stopped city metal heads from revelling. Tonight, a motley group of five city musicians from different bands will come together as one act to pay tribute to the legendary metal gurus at Hard Rock Cafe.

Christened All Star, the band will comprise vocalist Aidan Lewis, from Hoodwink Circle, lead guitarist Sanju Aguiar from Devoid and bassist Abhishek Kamdar from Summerpint Junkie. Zygnema members Siddhartha Kadadi on rhythm guitar and Mayank Sharma on drums will join them.

“We are really pumped up about the gig. Most musicians start off with learning Metallica songs. And since everyone enjoys their songs, we hope to have a great time,” says Lewis. Adds Kamdar, “This is a one time thing, where five musicians, from different bands, are coming to work for a show.”

The gig will feature All Star performing sixteen Metallica songs. “All the songs that we will play are our favourites, but the ones we’re particularly looking forward to are ‘Nothing else matters…’, ‘Master of puppets…’ and ‘Creeping death..’.,” says Kamdar.

Ask Kamdar about the experience of getting their act together for this one gig and he says, “We did not have any difficulties, because the five of us have actually been friends for a long time. We have been practicing together for the show for about two weeks now, and its been going really well”. Adds Lewis, “That’s the thing with musicians. We just talk, drink and have fun together”.
