VARANASI: Eight people died when an SUV they were travelling in fell into Mangai river while crossing a deteriorating bridge near Kandhvara region of Ghazipur district on Monday. The deceased are Mansa Devi 30, Tetari Devi 35, Baijnath 60, Pinki 14, Jitendra 10, Sharda Devi 50, Ramraji Devi 55, and Supari (17), police said. Residents claimed they had complained about the broken bridge to authorities, but it went in vain.
