MUZAFFARPUR: Transporters in Bihar have threatened to launch a statewide strike from October 2 if certain provisions of the Bihar Excise (Amendment) Act, 2016 were not repealed “with immediate effect”. The transporters from Bihar and Jharkhand, who assembled here late on Sunday evening following frequent seizure of vehicles by excise and police department officials for allegedly ferrying liquor, called the new law “draconian”.
