Centre to provide Rs 700 crore for airports in UP

NEW DELHI: The Centre will provide Rs 400 crore assistance to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for developing airports in Agra, Allahabad, Kanpur and Bareilly in UP. The government also set up a committee comprising two officers each from the civil aviation ministry and the UP government to prepare a feasibility report on developing airports in Meerut, Faizabad and Moradabad. The AAI had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UP government in February 2014 in this regard.
