Constable arrested for raping woman in Pune
PUNE: The police have arrested constable Manoj Uttam Kokane, 31, of the Pune rural police, for allegedly raping a married woman here on Monday night.
PUNE: The police have arrested constable Manoj Uttam Kokane, 31, of the Pune rural police, for allegedly raping a married woman here on Monday night.
In her complaint, the woman said that Kokane is her distant relative and would often visit her at her house, which she did not approve of.
He visited her house on Monday when she was alone at home.
When she objected to him coming over, he was enraged and allegedly raped her. He also threatened to kill her.
The woman then approached the police after her husband returned from work at night.
Kokane then arrested by the police from his house.
The police said that the constable was not on duty at the time of committing the crime.
However, the case is being probed and action will be taken if he is proved guilty.
