NEW DELHI: The Opposition on Tuesday attacked the BJP in Rajya Sabha for allegedly being coercive during last month’s polls to gets its candidates elected to the Upper House from Jharkhand. Raising the issue, JMM MP Sanjiv Kumar alleged that two opposition MLAs were harassed in some old cases on the eve of the polls. Also, he alleged that a JMM MLA was arrested in a petty case to prevent him from voting. However, minister of state for parliamentary affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi rejected the allegations, , saying that the government had full confidence in Election Commission to hold free and fair elections.
