NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday sough information from the Centre on what steps have been taken by it to ensure that mobile phone connections are given only after a proper verification of the subscribers. A bench issued the direction after non-profit organisation Lokniti Foundation informed the court about the suggestions it gave to the government in August 2014 on the issue. Lokniti has petitioned the top court after it did not get any response from the Department of Telecommunications.
