AGRA: The high-speed Spanish Talgo train clocked a speed of 180 km per hour during its second phase trial run between Mathura and Palwal on Wednesday. The distance of 84 kms was covered by the coaches in 38 minutes. With only Gatiman Express travelling at 160 km/hour between Delhi and Agra, the speed of 180 km/hour attained by Talgo was the maximum reached by any train on Indian tracks. “It is a big achievement and an encouragement towards the aim of having high-speed trains possible on our railway tracks,” stated Dilip Kumar Singh, additional railway manager (ADRM) of Agra division of North Central Railways.
