Woman raped by auto driver and co-passenger in Agra

AGRA: A married woman was allegedly gang-raped by an autorickshaw driver and a passenger in Shikohabad town of Firozabad district. The victim was abducted, taken to a room in a remote area, and gang-raped. The accused also took away the woman’s cash and mobile phone.

The 25-year-old woman was travelling from her hometown of Etah and reached Shikohabad on Saturday evening. She hired an autorickshaw to travel to Humainpur locality under Dakshin police station. A co-passenger in the rickshaw conspired with the driver and asked him to get her a cold drink, which they spiked with a sedative. They took the unconscious woman to a tube-well in Dadimai village. There, the duo allegedly gang-raped her, making away with 20,000 and her phone.

Villagers found the unconscious woman on Sunday and informed police.

Devendra Shankar Pandey, station officer of Shikohabad police station, said a case was registered against the driver of the autorickshaw and the co-passenger and a search was on to locate them. “Arrests are yet to be made and raids are being conducted to trace the accused,” said Pandey.
