BAREILLY: Seven people were injured in clashes between groups of Hindu and Muslim communities in Rampur on Friday following an altercation over a bet of Rs 100.

BAREILLY: Seven people were injured in clashes between groups of Hindu and Muslim communities in Rampur on Friday following an altercation over a bet of Rs 100. Heavy police force was deployed to maintain law and order while a probe was initiated to nab perpetrators. “The incident occurred in the Purana Ganj mohalla under Ganj police station in the morning. Few people were injured and five motorcycles were set on fire by the crowd,” said Ale Hasan Khan, circle officer. “One of the families lodged a police complaint in which they accused six people of violence,” he added.
