New, clearer video surfaces of man strangulating dog in Noida
The man can be seen standing on the dog in the second video of the Noida incident circulating on social media
Two days after the blurred video of a man strangulating a street dog with his feet in full public view in a Noida market appeared online, another video of the incident surfaced on Monday. The new video is much clearer and may come in handy for the police to identify and nab the man.
The six-second video clip shows the man in traffic police uniform standing on the dog with the support of a push cart in the market. The alleged incident took place at Som Bazaar in Sector 45 between 9pm and 10pm on Friday.
Police said they had received photographs and a video clip from an animal rights activist Ashima Sunil, who lodged a complaint in the matter in Sector 39 police station on Saturday.

Ajay Kumar Singh, station house officer of Sector 39 police station, said, “Earlier, we received a video footage of the incident which was not very clear and it was difficult to identify the man. The second video produced by the activist has to be verified before taking action against the person. We are scanning CCTV footage from the area where the incident is believed to have taken place and are also questioning locals to ascertain the identity of the man.”
The video clip that surfaced on social media on Monday was shot from the front and the man’s face is clearly visible. An eyewitness said on Saturday that the man was drunk and hell bent on killing the animal as it had barked at him.
The man allegedly stood on the stray dog for over an hour, pressing the dog’s mouth and neck to the ground with one foot and holding its hind legs with another foot, and moved only after the dog was dead.
According to witnesses, the man in question is a former armyman who worked as a volunteer traffic marshal along with Gautam Budh Nagar police in Noida. The video circulated on Monday shows him in a traffic marshal’s uniform.
