The Noida authority chief executive officer Alok Tandon on Monday said he has started the required process to approve building maps online.
However, the authority will take around six months to develop the system on its portal in order to provide this facility for all kinds of plots, including residential, industrial, and commercial or mixed-land use.
The authority, in 2014, had tried to develop an online system to give building map approvals, but the project did not work. Now, the authority has once again started the process.
The CEO took a meeting with the town planning, group housing and industrial departments, among other officials, at the Sector 6 office and asked them to start the process for providing digital approvals online. The authority wants to ensure that plot allottees do not have to visit the office for building map approvals. Instead, they can get it approved online with ‘a mere click of the mouse’, officials said.
The move is aimed at reducing corruption that allegedly troubles plot owners when they visit the authority office to get their building map approvals done, officials said.
“We have already roped in UP Electronics Corporation Limited for the task of developing the software on our existing web portal to enable our consumers to get building maps approved online without visiting the Sector 6 office,” Tandon said.
The UP government agency has already started its job. But, it will take six months to make this facility operational. Once the system is ready, we will also train our staff so that plot owners can get their building maps approved after uploading all documents,” he said.
Apart from this, the authority has also decided to get geographic information system (GIS) survey done of all old and new industrial plots.
“The Uttar Pradesh Development Systems Corporation Limited will get the GIS mapping of all industrial plots done in the next 60 days. Once the GIS mapping is done, it will help us in the allotment of facilities for entrepreneurs,” Tandon said.
The authority wants to get GIS mapping done because it will help in the identification of available industrial plots in old sectors.
“Currently, in the absence of GIS mapping, we depend on a manual system to figure out how much un-allotted industrial land we have. But once the GIS mapping is done, we can check this quickly and help in the setting up of industries,” Tandon said.
